The Rambam Society Tuesdays: October 2, 16, 30; November 13, 27 8:00PM - 9:00PM Coordinator: Jan Winning A unique adult learning program modeled after the PLATO Society of UCLA and SAGE Society of CSUN. Opportunities to research, present, and participate in discussions on a variety of topics. Each lecture will feature a different topic and a different Instructor. “Walking with God” with Rabbi Camras STS is excited to offer this new and exciting endeavor of the Conservative Movement. Walking with God is a series of learning units designed to expose congregants to the variety of ways we can encounter God in our lives. Through essays, group and individual text study and journaling, the course is designed to stimulate, engage and strengthen our connection to God and to our Jewish heritage. This is great learning opportunity for Religious School parents! Adult B'nai-Mitzvah Class For those desirous of becoming a Bar or Bat Mitzvah, this 2-year program includes Hebrew reading, an introduction to Judaism, and learning Torah and Haftorah trope. The program culminates with a B'nai Mitzvah service. To register for this class, contact Marilyn in the Main Office. Students in this program are required to be STS members. Beginning Hebrew Reading Hebrew reading for those who do not read Hebrew or who have limited skills. Conversational Hebrew 101 Interested in picking up some basic Hebrew conversational skills? This is the class for you! |
Learning Opportunities for Families of Pre-Teens and Teens with Rabbi Camras For 6th graders and their parents: This program will help parents and pre-teens navigate the challenges of Middle School peer relationships. For 7th graders and their parents: What does it mean to be a Jewish parent and a Jewish teen in the 21st century? For 9-12th graders and their parents: Rabbi Camras facilitates a conversation with teenagers and their parents about the “Jewish” way to drive. Torah Study: The Lessons within the Stories Sundays Discover how to find lessons for our sophisticated lives, how to develop values and opinions based on the Torah and it's stories. Shabbat Afternoon Study Class Join us at our continuing Shabbat lunch study program with various STS rabbis.
