USY

United Synagogue Youth (USY) is a youth group for 7th-12th graders. USY provides social, religious, leadership and community service based activities. They meet weekly on Wednesday nights in the Lounge and have monthly Shabbat dinners, Saturday night programs and Sunday events. Shomrei Torah's USY chapter is a part of the larger Far West region and participates in regional events throughout the year. USY seamlessly blends fun social programming with dynamic informal Jewish education, prompting the kids to set high goals and achieve greatness.

 Leadership Development Institute

The Leadership Development Institute (LDI) at Shomrei Torah Synagogue seeks to create a new generation of leaders in the STS community by providing leadership training and opportunities to utilize this learning through hands-on experiences. This elite group of teens are offered the unique experience of working directly with the Director of Informal Education to master these valuable leadership skills. Participants of LDI work as Madrichim in our Religious School, STAR and Shabbaton programs.
